Better late than never... and a brooklyn sale

My thank yous are a little late, but better late than never. But I figure what better day than the day after thanksgiving, with my belly full and 20 lbs heavier then the day before.

Thanks to Samantha for the recent post about my work and for meeting up at our new favorite, local bar.
Here are some of her awesome patterns.

Many thanks to Caroline Stanley at Flavorwire (and recently departed GenArt) for all the shout outs and support.

Also, if you're in Brooklyn go by this indoor holiday market. I'm gonna have a hard time not doing any shopping for myself, maybe I'll leave my wallet at home. Mociun, Alyson Fox, Lena Corwin, and many more will be selling their wares, some one of a kind and many discounted!

Sinking into a puddle of fluff...

I think its been over 5 years now that I've been looking for the perfect duvet cover, I've searched near and far and have come up with nothing... And now, I have found a solution. Well, finally found the perfect print for my solution... I've decided to make my own duvet cover and this Marimekko Lumimarja print seems so perfect. Now to decide on which color....

This is the one I really want that I found on ebay, but its too small...

"Gathered Together"

Jill Bliss and Saelee Oh's Collaborative works are up on display at Tinlark Gallery in Los Angeles. The space looks like walking into the world of Jill and Saelee, full of whimsy, delicacy, and happiness.

I love these set up shots!

See more photos at Saelee's blog.

The flurry of colors

I love the use of color in this collection by Wunderkind.

Oops, my bad...

Threadbanger was nice enough to come over to my studio and interview me for their awesome website. Threadbanger is a site full of how-tos and inspirational material about crafting, sewing, knitting and more.

Soooooooo........ there are comments galore about how I made the mistake of calling my paper piece a pentagon and NOT a hexagon. YES, you are all correct. This is why I am an artist, because I didn't do well in Math and Geometry... Even though all my quilting requires me to use geometry now...

Crowd surf through this....

Last night I met up with my friend, Lana Kim, at the Market Hotel where No Age was playing. I love me some No Age, but I definitely am old compared to some of the kids at the show. There was a lot of moshing and crowd surfing but A LOT of great music.

I also finally met Andy Bruntel, one of Lana's oldest friends that I have always heard about but never met in the 7 years that I've known her. Andy is a talented director with The Director's Bureau.

You may have seen his Rilo Kiley "It's a Hit" video or Modest Mouse "People as Places as..." video.

This No Age video is up for an award at MTV's Woodie Awards this week.

for the love of god...

And by that I mean, Church & State. A beautiful line of clothing out of Portland, OR. I love indie designers this is just one of the many that I'm completely obsessed with (not to sound like Rachel Zoe or anything... and I swear, I've only seen one episode of that show.)

I love their about them page:
"if church & state were a day of the week, it would be sunday. if it were a baked good, it would be a homemade pie. if it were a liquour, it would be bourbon & if church & state were a friend, it would be the best one."

I used this new website building software called indexhibit. Its really great and easy to use! If you're looking to build a website yourself, this is a great starter.

69 Love Songs

I've re-entered my musical past and fell in love again with "69 Love Songs" by the Magnetic Fields. One of THE best albums ever made, at least in my opinion... With songs like "The Cactus Where Your Heart Should Be" and "How Fucking Romantic" how could you not fall in love again.
