The Storque brings the look home...

A brief interlude from Copenhagen. Recently, the Storque team at Etsy posted a "Getting the look" feature on my home. I love the Storque, I can obsessively look through it for hours on end (and I mean hours on end, like 8 hours...). Well, it is a love/hate because I always end up buying something or putting a store in my "favorites" pile...

Check out the feature!

Welcome to Copenhagen, so fresh and so clean!

I'm back from my week in Copenhagen and mini vacation to Amsterdam. It was a great trip and having met such great people on my trip, I feel very fortunate to be an artist for a living. Thanks to Marie at Beaver Projects and Mimi at Rumkammerat.

Upon arriving in Copenhagen, the first thing I noticed was how clean everything was. The city and the air!
Oh and the bikes!!! Everyone on bikes, it was my dream!
Some pics...

Copenhagen Airport/Metro Station. The metro is supposed to be fairly new.

Pre-setup shots.

Side by side with Gudrun Hasle's piece.

Gudrun's Dear Mom piece. I love this piece, Gudrun has dyslexia and she uses it in her art. At first, I thought it was in Danish but I realized it was written in English.

That's Gudrun painting her box...

More photos to come! Especially ones from the opening, I need to get those from Saelee.

Demons in Spring

Itsah so gloomy outah. I don't know why I'm writing with a so called Italian accent... I'm very tired from trying to finish 2 pieces overnight so I'm a little delirious.

I'm waiting for my copy to arrive, but I found this on a 12ozprophet posted by Cody Hudson, the art director, designer of the book (and artist extraordinaire).

Demons in Spring is a collection of short stories by Joe Meno and some of the proceeds benefit 826CHI. "the book includes art by todd baxter, kelsey brookes, ivan brunetti, charles burns, nick butcher, steph davidson, evan hecox, kim hiorthoy, paul horschemeier, cody hudson, caroline hwang, kozyndan, geoff mcfetridge, anders nilsen, laura owens, archer prewitt, jon resh, jay ryan, souther salazr, rachell sumpter, chris uphues."-from 12ozprophet.

The book looks great and am very humbled to be in the company of such great artists.

Pre-Birthday, day of Birth...

Yesterday was my birthday... The night before was the SVA Auction, I started to celebrate it the night before at the auction with yummy hor'derves and cocktails.
Some of my favorite pieces below:
The view from the SVA auction.

The Caterers

Romaine Orthwein

Phoebe Washburn

JeongMee Yeoh

Led up to midnight with cupcakes from Billy's (courtesy of my lovely friend, Lisa).

And just after midnight, I accidently stabbed myself in the thigh with an exacto blade. NOT FUN, but am totally ok. Never thought I would be the kind to get light headed after seeing a wound, but something about seeing your skin gashed open makes you a bit light headed....

Had my birthday dinner at Good Fork in Red Hook, and ohmigod, it was delicious! For the year of 29, I am no longer a vegetarian... I have to stop feeling bad about that...Thanks to Josh, Jenny, Bryn, Lisa, and Heather for making it happen!

mmmmmm is right!

Post birthday drinks coming up this weekend! (Yes, my birthday lasts a total of 5 days)
