Breathtaking

This new installation at Tatton Park Biennial by Kate MccGwire is absolutely breathtaking. Its so ominous yet beautiful. I love installations that changes you, your positioning, and emotion the moment you enter the space.

Dust to Dust

Monica Canilao's Show is coming up at Cinders Gallery this Friday. I'm excited to see it, she does some amazing installation work. Here are some of her older pieces, you can see a sneak peek at her newer work here. I think it'll be more interesting to see in context of the installation.

Knee deep in yarn

Lion Brand Studio had a President's day Weekend sale, I grabbed the opportunity to buy most of the yarn I needed for my sound installation. Oh the pretty colors!

Do-Ho Suh

I'm probably a bit late in finding out about this, but maybe some of you haven't seen it. Do-Ho Suh is a Korean artist creates pretty amazing sculptures. He creates site specific installations which has always been an interest of mine.

This piece, "Perfect Home," was one of the first pieces that got me interested in him. Its created out of silk.

He has an exhibit up at the Hayward in the Psycho Buildings. Here's some images from that exhibit and an interview at the end of this post. Hope he conjures up some ideas for you as he does for me.
