A wink and a smile

I got a wink in the mail the other day, and it made me smile...

The best winks given by Steve Harrington. We did a trade and he sent me all these goodies!

The thing that I most looked forward to was this book! Co-designed with John Harrington, Steve's brother, its pretty awesome. I love the personal insight.

You know what else is great, these rad pillows on our couch.

Dear and Yonder

Always super psyched when a movie comes out about female surfers, skaters, artists, etc.

Here's a skate movie that's came out by the same production company, Villa Villa Cola, a couple years back.

Getting nowhere faster

Boy, oh, boy...

Fashion week here in NY... Always makes me want to spend money on clothes, I can admire from afar.

Boy by Band of Outsiders

The look of Lorick. The clothes, the styling, it looks so great. I especially love the set design.

This is my favorite scene.

More pics here.

Down the Rabbit Hole

I'm sure this is all over the blog-o-sphere by now, but...

Mary Blair's concept sketches for Alice in Wonderland has been released in a new book. Take a look on this flickr set.

I do remember, as a little kid, having recorded the TV mini-series on Beta. And that scaring the shit out of me, mainly because of how weird it was and a lot of it having to do with how scary Carol Channing was to me. But as scary as it was, I remember watching it over and over again... I need to watch that again...

Weekend of Labor

This weekend was a weekend of labor rather than my Labor Day weekend. Some views of my weekend...

The morning cup of fresh brewed coffee and replanting my out of control Coleus plant.

Making Cinnamon buns, yum! With No Knead Bread dough.

My walk to the Fort Greene Farmer's Market and back. Saw this Gingko Plant, and my dad told me that dried up gingko leaves steer roaches away from your home. Handy household tips!

My weird dog and my neighborhood.

Then my labor... Beaver Projects in Copenhagen, where I'm having a 2 person show in October has a flagpole outside of the gallery. So it was suggested to make a flag, my first attempt. And although there was a bit of crinkling on the left hand corner, I thought it came out alright....

I was also able to vary the widths of the stitching while I was sewing... which helped in making the image line work look a little bit more like my line work.

Panaroma Project 3

This opens this Saturday, Sept. 6th. If you live in the New York area, I hope you can come out to see it.
