When I got the new issue of Martha Stewart this month, the Cream Puffs with Lemon Mousse and Blueberry Sauce jumped out at me screaming "MAKE ME and EAT ME!"
So of course, I obliged. I made these as a housewarming gift to some friends (yes, i like to bake for my friends.) Kinda time consuming, with a lot of different components but not too difficult if you have the time. A really refreshing little treat!
Also, I've realized its been a while since I've updated you on my rooftop garden. Truth is, it wasn't doing so well for a while, not enough heat or something... But here it is! Its doing so well, I'm so proud of my little guys.
In this container, arugula, brussel sprouts and cilantro. These were all grown from seeds and did so well. I think I have to transplat my arugula to my community garden, getting a little crowded.
Here, I have roma tomatoes and brandywine tomatoes (bought from the farmer's market). The romas are rapidly flowering.

Weekend of Labor
This weekend was a weekend of labor rather than my Labor Day weekend. Some views of my weekend...
The morning cup of fresh brewed coffee and replanting my out of control Coleus plant.
Making Cinnamon buns, yum! With No Knead Bread dough.
My walk to the Fort Greene Farmer's Market and back. Saw this Gingko Plant, and my dad told me that dried up gingko leaves steer roaches away from your home. Handy household tips!
My weird dog and my neighborhood.
Then my labor... Beaver Projects in Copenhagen, where I'm having a 2 person show in October has a flagpole outside of the gallery. So it was suggested to make a flag, my first attempt. And although there was a bit of crinkling on the left hand corner, I thought it came out alright....
I was also able to vary the widths of the stitching while I was sewing... which helped in making the image line work look a little bit more like my line work.

Get your sweet tooth on!
When I was a kid, my friends and I would stand outside of my apartment building and set up a booth and sell random toys, drawings, orphaned crayons to the people walking by. Most of the time the customer was the same person, a sweet, old man who lived a couple buildings down from us. I remember that he would stop by after eating at "The Pied Piper" and always buy a crayon or a drawing.
Well I'm going to try to relive those days, but this time hopefully we'll have more than the same customer. This time it'll be at the BUST Spring Craftacular. My friend and I are having a bake sale! I love to bake and I only wish I could incorporate baking into my art somehow, but alas no. So I'll set up a booth and have a bake sale instead. If you're in Brooklyn on Sunday, April 27th between 11am-9pm please stop by the Warsaw
