I recently worked with Heidi Easudes at Arrive Magazine, the on-board mag for Amtrak. (see illos in context here) The article was about the feasts you could have going up and down the Northeast. I must say, it made me quite hungry for lobster, mussels, crab, and MAINE.

Breathless
A couple nights ago, my boyfriend and I went on a date to watch the newly remastered Breathless. I hadn't seen this film since I was in college and I forget how beautiful it is and how stunning Jean Seberg is. If you haven't seen it and you're into French New Wave films, its worth watching. And if you aren't into French New Wave, you'd probably fall asleep but might enjoy the french fashion!

Art-o-mat! ART SALE!
Hello everyone! I've been cleaning out my "art closet" and thought that these pieces should go to a home rather than sitting away in a closet, so I'm putting them up for sale!
These pieces are pieces that were commissioned for illustration jobs or zine originals. Its once in a blue moon that I do this, but I hope you like what you see!
Also, any item over $100, I plan on donating 10% of the funds to Oceana. I can only accept paypal or US checks and postage will be added onto the sale price. (Usually $4.95 priority mail, unless its international) Feel free to email me with questions! mail@carolinehwang.net

Inlay
There is art in craft and it is exampled beautifully in Alison Elizabeth Taylor's pieces. She uses wood inlay like a painter uses paint through the craft of marquetry. Her show, Foreclosed, at James Cohan Gallery is not only beautiful aesthetically but conceptually as well. If you're in the New York area, it is not an exhibit to be missed.

Some People I Met
Rich Jacobs is one hell of a guy (i dare you to try to find someone who will say otherwise), and he always puts on the best shows. Picking from a list of highly regarded people to unknowns, he sure knows what he's doing. And he's doing it again, with another Move Show at Space 1026. I am humbled to be showing with many of these people and to be asked again. Here's my piece, although I wish I had more time its a start (just a start) to breaking my hiatus.
Special music guests, Zomes (asa from Lungfish) Koen Holtcamp (from Mountians) Tim Kerr (from Big Boys, and all the bands that i dont have room to list.)
Eric White, Calef Brown, Jim Houser, Garry Davis, Karoline Collins, Tim Kerr, Chrissy Piper, Mofo, Jordin Isip, Rich Jacobs, Stephen Powers, Alberto Kroeger, James Gallagher, Jeff Canham, Louie Cordero, Bert Queiroz, Melinda Beck, Dan Murphy, Tod Swank, Rodger Bridges, Caroline Hwang, Jason Polan, Matt Leines, Jocko Weyland, Billy Sprague, Kate Hurowitz, Clint Woodside, Carl Dunn, Rob Ben, Martin Sorrondeguy, Jenna Robinson, Kelly Nicholson, Adam Wallacavage, Chris Duncan, Erika Borboa, Alex Lukas, Michael Bartalos, Ben Woodward, Isaac Lin, Max Lawrence, Chris Shary, Damian Abraham, Chris Stain, Andrew Jeffrey Wright, Chris Kline, Derek Weisberg, John Freeborn, & maybe a few others?
