On Friday, in the 15 degree weather, I finally made it over to the Whitney to catch the William Eggleston and the Alexander Calder show. Thanks to "Pay what you can" Fridays!
Eggleston's photographs are truly beautiful. He found the beauty in the mundane and the ordinary.
And Alexander Calder's mobiles and Circus, I truly am a fan of Calder. Particularly his circus and wire sculptures. They have his film on permanent display but its always fun to see him bringing the circus to life, like a little boy.
The show comes down on the 25th, hurry on up there before the show comes down. It is well worth the trip.
