Happy Hour

Last week, Lisa and I had some lovely ladies over for Happy Hour. Filled with drinks like Root n' Ginger, Cherry-Lime Rickeys, and Ginger, Cranberry, Apple Punch, the hour was indeed very happy! We were very excited to see friends we hadn't seen in a while, like Jenna who went on a 7-month honeymoon to Europe!

Kate from For Me, For You donned a preview of her new necklaces at the party (which are bee-yoo-ti-ful and unfortunately sold out.)

All in all good times were had. Check Num Num Chronicles next week for full review of how-tos, recipes, and more! The Sublet girls also posted some photos.

Geometric Wall Hangings

Last Friday I finally managed to make it up to MOMA to see the Bauhaus exhibit. Although it was super crowded (Free Fridays are always super packed) I did manage to get through and see some pretty great things. Including the wall hangings of Anni Albers (see previous entry) and Gunta Stolzl. Here are some of Gunta Stolzl's wall hangings, more can be seen here.

this was my favorite of the whole exhibit.

Art by the Meena Women

I think I'm a bit late in sharing the art of these amazing women but for those of you who hasn't seen it before its a sight to see. These wall paintings are done by the Meena Tribe who reside in the Aravalli Hills of India. The white paintings on the mud walls are a tradition passed on from generation to generation between the women of the tribe. According to Pratilippi "through these paintings the women record their past and present experiences."

You can buy a book on these women here.
