Ever since "The September Issue" was released I've been waiting to watch it. Now that I've upgraded my Netflix to unlimited streaming I had the movie at my fingertips. It was really interesting to watch, I suppose you have to be into fashion and the on-goings of Vogue and Anna Wintour. There was one person that stood out in the whole film and that was Grace Coddington, the Creative Director at Vogue. Being a former model herself, her career was cut short due to a car accident, but her love of fashion remained. She styles a lot of the photo shoots herself and still has the heart of a romantic.
“I like fairy tales, and I like dreaming. I try to weave the reality into the dream,” she articulates. “When readers pick up Vogue, I want them to smile. Everything should be a little tongue in cheek, a little dare-to-go-there.”
She truly is a fine lady.

Sunny Days
On Saturday, a beautiful Spring day, I decided to ride my bike up to the Central Library in Brooklyn to do some research. I absolutely love that library, not only is it beautiful, but I could sit there all day and look through books. I found several things to inspire me, including a book of Inuit Prints. I wasn't able to take pictures from the book but here are some I found online.

Become a Microscope
Excited for the documentary on Sister Corita Kent to screen in New York.
Become A Microscope
90 Statements on Sister Corita
A Film by Aaron Rose
Produced by Jon Barlow, Edited by Lenny Mesina, Original Score by Money Mark and Becky Stark.
Synopsis:
Sister Corita (1918-1986) was a teacher, political activist and possibly one of the most innovative and unusual pop artists of the 1960’s. She was also a Catholic nun. Become A Microscope is a 20-minute art/documentary film celebrating the life, work, and teachings of this incredible artist. The film was shot on location on the campus of Immaculate Heart in Los Angeles, the same place where most of the film’s story happened. It serves as a living, breathing document of the inspiration she spread to so many people throughout her life…and as the title suggests, the importance of looking at the world “small pieces at a time”. Through the use of interviews with those who knew her, we tell Corita’s story in an abstract way. Using archival images from the Corita archive along with visual effects created specifically for the project by some of the most talented animators working today, we have created a colorful visual montage. The film reveals itself as a living, moving, graphic and musical artwork.
