Hyperbolic Coral Reef, WHA?

This is awesome... Margaret Wertheim is a science writer who started a crochet project with her sister. They re-created the coral reef based on a crochet technique invented by a mathemetician.

The more and more I do my handi-crafts, the more I realize math is coming into play in my life. I remember when I used to say, "when am i going to use geometry and algebra in my life?!" Little did I know... tsk tsk to me.
